I was just getting back in the swing of things and I got caught in the current. I had a supply of Dora the Explorer and Diego books from Chik-Fil-A and I thought 10-15 was enough. As I stepped onto the Broad Street line, there were 9 children waiting for me. I immediately started handing them out. Each hand out and waiting patiently. I was paid in full with the smiles and nods, and I rode the five stops to City Hall watching each of the children read to each other and to their parents. What a cool way to end a week. The rest of the books went early this morning on the 6:20am High Speed Line to 69th Street. I am going to restock and get ready for another successful commute home today!

Thanks to a fantastic email from Warren Bowe, an English Teacher in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, I am back to updating this blog. Sorry for the time away. I wanted to let you know that I am getting my classes back into the swing of things by making sure they have books for the commute home. I have been continuing to keep a book or two in my own rucksack to hand out, and I hope to re-envigorate the masses. Send me more notes about your stories and adventures while handing out books. I am not located near Temple University and riding 3 trains and a bus each way! Thanks for continuing to support this effort! - Scrib |
